How to
Apply

Overview Of Our Application Process
Receiving a Bobby Bonds Memorial Foundation scholarship is an essential step on the path to a life of long-term recovery. The first step on that path is understanding our scholarship criteria. This guide is designed to help you become familiar with the specific requirements and application process for each of our scholarship programs.
How to Qualify
At the Bobby Bonds Memorial Foundation, we seek individuals on the road to recovery. To qualify for one of our scholarships, applicants must:

Demonstrate a clear commitment to long-term recovery from addiction. This can be done through a personal statement, a letter of recommendation, or proof of participation in a recovery program.

Depending on the type of scholarship, they must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited educational program, therapeutic service, or sober living facility.

Provide at least two references from non-family members. Ideal references are therapists, counselors, teachers, or employers who can attest to your commitment to recovery.
Specific criteria for each scholarship
We offer three types of scholarships, each tailored to a specific stage or need on the road to recovery:

Educational Scholarships:
Applicants must prove they have entered or are enrolled in a degree program at an accredited educational institution. A brief description of the course of study and its relevance to your recovery journey is beneficial.

Therapeutic Program Scholarships:
Applicants must provide an acceptance letter or proof of ongoing participation in an accredited therapeutic service or recovery program. Explaining how this program contributes to your recovery would strengthen your application.

Sober Living Scholarships:
Applicants must prove that they have been admitted to or currently reside in a certified sober living facility. Explain how residing in this facility will support your path to recovery.
